The greatest warrior is he who is unarmed.
The greatest warrior is she who fights with wits.
The greatest warrior is he who treats an enemy like his brother.
The greatest warrior is she who gives to others, and not to herself.
The greatest warrior is he who prays for his enemy.
The greatest warrior is she who is a light to those around.
The greatest warrior is not a warrior at all.

God's Message - Marie Bontrager
Everyone hears God's message,
But first you must listen.
Listen to people's words,
The beauty of nature,
The answer to prayer,
God's voice talk to you,
The Holy Spirit in worship,
The stillness of the summer night.
Everyone can hear God's message,
But first you must listen.
But first you must listen.
Listen to people's words,
The beauty of nature,
The answer to prayer,
God's voice talk to you,
The Holy Spirit in worship,
The stillness of the summer night.
Everyone can hear God's message,
But first you must listen.
Holy Spirit - Abe Thorne
a bear a lion a turtle a hare
a snake a bird a fish a mare
in you out of you all around you
searching for you already found you
the bed you sleep in
the pillow you weep in
the weak will be strong
no one will be wrong
a snake a bird a fish a mare
in you out of you all around you
searching for you already found you
the bed you sleep in
the pillow you weep in
the weak will be strong
no one will be wrong

Fears are Not an Excuse - Joel Gerig
Fears are not an excuse
Dark spaces are not an excuse
Spiders are not an excuse
Heights are not an excuse
Death is not an excuse

Lucas Morgan - Despair
A little editing from Mr. Miller
Death, mourning, violence, hate,
all, in silence, they wait
for a chance to attack.
Fear is not what they lack.
They lack love, without it they cannot see.
If we show them love, they will taste defeat,
for the eyes of God, they will finally see.
Death, mourning, violence, hate,
all, in silence, they wait
for a chance to attack.
Fear is not what they lack.
They lack love, without it they cannot see.
If we show them love, they will taste defeat,
for the eyes of God, they will finally see.

Sadie Gustafson-Zook - Grass and Belief

As I look through the grass, I see a single blade, twice the length of the others. I wonder, how can this be? The person who cuts the grass can't miss a single piece. Is it just an incredibly fast grower? That's the answer I decide on. But what makes it grow any faster than the others?
I think it believes.

Julian Philips-Kanagy - Haiku
I realize that there
is nothing I can do to
live unsatisfied,
For God is being
a major part of me now,
and will always be.

Ryan Minter - Silent

As I sit here, silent, I watch the world go
round. Time is slowing down, like a train approaching
the station. As I sit here, silent, people are quickly
passing by. Nobody has any idea of the pain I
sadly bear. As I sit here, silent, it feels like the
world is avoiding me. People rush, to work, to
school, as here I sadly, painfully cry. As I sit
here, silent, for weeks and weeks on end. At last
I find my resting place, and here it is with
God.

Wade Troyer - Time
Note: I have no idea what this means, but I like it.
my mind went blank
I had no idea
I thought
fifteen minutes ten minutes
minutes seconds
it hit me
Mark was covered in mirrors
the room was blue and white
the Office, couch, Andrew
Curse ADD!
Slaving thoughts
trouble
time
my mind went blank
I had no idea
I thought
fifteen minutes ten minutes
minutes seconds
it hit me
Mark was covered in mirrors
the room was blue and white
the Office, couch, Andrew
Curse ADD!
Slaving thoughts

Lana Smucker - Our Body
edited by Mr. Miller
The Holy Spirit is our body.
Love streaming to every part, thick and flowing.
Joy spills out of our eyes, dilates our pupils, and is seen.
Peace in all we touch, from the hands of our hearts.
Hope in places we go, in each step of our feet.
Rejoicing embraces, surrounding anyone in need.
Power in our speech, whispering to hearts, shouting to emotions:
The Holy Spirit, our loving, peaceful, hopeful,
rejoicing and powerful body.

Caleb Morris - More

Birds flying overhead.
They are heading south.
They want more.
So do we.
The birds want warm weather,
a necessity for their survival.
We want luxuries,
the new and the best thing.
Pour out all our money into luxuries
until there is no money left.
The money becomes our god,
we worship it.
Then we forget.
We forget what we're supposed to worship
The One who brought us here,
the One who promises more.
We go through our lives searching for more.
We abandon God.
God is more.
God is what we're searching for.

Katie Hurst - Luke 6 Journal

Jesus picks
grains
He eats
them also
He is
accused
He calmly
answers
with great
dignity
The Pharisees are
mad
They plot against
Jesus
Jesus
takes it in
He accepts the fact
that he will
soon
be
dead
How does he
do it
the people
wonder
Amazement, wonder
King of all
Kings
Jesus

Lucas Morgan - Change
September 12, 2008
Change is all around.
Some things change people.
People change things.
Some like change.
Some hate change.
Change is unpredictable.
Change is all around.
Some things change people.
People change things.
Some like change.
Some hate change.
Change is unpredictable.
